Written for the March 8th, 1894 Herman News, Herman, Nebraska and published in the March 14, 1894 Blair Courier, Blair, Nebraska

Died

This morning at about nine o’clock Mrs. Mary Siezer was called away by death, which resulted from a complication of diseases, which eventually terminated in a severe fever causing her death. At this time a number of the children of the household are sick and her husband is also confined to his bed.

She was born in Pekin, Indiana and was 35 years, 11 months and 17 days old at the time of her death. She left Indiana some eighteen years ago since which time she has been a resident of Washington county. Some fifteen years ago she was married here in Herman to Chris Siezer, and has lived happily with him ever since. They have raised six children, the youngest being only eighteen months old, while the oldest is twelve years of age. Mrs. Siezer is a daughter of J.A. Souder, who now lives about one mile southwest of here. The sympathy of the entire community will be extended to the bereaved father and motherless children in this their sad hour of sickness and trouble. The funeral services will be held at three o’clock tomorrow afternoon at the house, Rev. A.M. McFarland officiating. –Herman News of March 8th.
