Mother of Arlington Lady Died in Ashland

Services for Mrs. Maude Elsie Sims, 72, Ashland, mother of an Arlington woman, were at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Marcy Funeral Home chapel in Ashland.

Burial was in Ashland Cemetery.

Rev. Ronald Irons officiated.

Maude Elsie Van Allen was born May 10, 1896 at Crowley, La. She was married at Omaha, July 31, 1913, to Jess D. Sims, who died in 1964. They had resided in Ashland for many years.

Survivors include five sons: Dale and Gerald, both of California; Frank of the U.S. Navy; Robert, of the U.S. Air Force; and Donald, Ashland; six daughters: Mrs. Maxine Barton, Arlington; Mrs. Henry (Dorothy) Post, Omaha; Mrs. Harry (Vivian) Hagstrom, Council Bluffs, Iowa; Mrs. Emil (Betty) Kulhanek, Ashland; Mrs. Elmer (Susan) Iske, Loup City; and Miss Jessie Sims of Florida; 30 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Violet Hall, Wahoo.
