Lynn Edgell, “The Hobbit”, 76 of Blair passed Tuesday January 19, 2016 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair. The family will hold a private service. An open house will be held Saturday, January 30 at South Creek Conference Center from 1 to 4PM.

Lynn Edgell was born in Goodland, Kansas on July 13, 1939 to Forrest and Lucille (Deaves) Edgell. Lynn and his wife Ginger have resided in Blair since graduating from Dana in the winter of ’69. He taught and coached in the Blair Public School System for 34 years. His lifelong love of reading brought “The Hobbit” to life for generations. He said, “I think that during our short life time we should do things for others.”

He is survived by his wife Ginger, daughters Shari and Dave Walker and Suzie and Bob Beeson, son Scott and Angela Edgell, brother Robert and Susan Edgell, 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, aunt Helen, numerous cousins and great-nieces and -nephews.

He is preceded in death by his brothers Steve and Chuck.

In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to the family in preparations for memorializing Lynn’s countless hours of service to the community.
