Services For Mark Claridge To Be Thursday

Services for 83 year old Mark Hanna Claridge will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, 1980. Mr. Claridge died on July 1 at the Crowell Home in Blair.

Masonic services were held at 7:30 p.m. at the Campbell Funeral Home on Wednesday evening. Regular services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday from the First Methodist Church in Blair, Rev. Gordon Patterson officiating. Burial will be at the Blair Cemetery.

Mark Hanna Claridge was born at Carlinville, Illinois on July 2, 1896. He married Zelma Ellsworth on April 9, 1917. Mr. Claridge had been a Section Foreman for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad until his retirement in 1959.

He and his wife moved to Blair in 1938 from Stewart, Nebraska. He worked for the Railroad for 36 years. After that time he sold merchandise for McConnon Products and also sold County Atlases.

He was very active in the Masonic Lodge at Blair.

Mr. Claridge is survived by his wife Zelma of Blair, two daughters, eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. The daughters are: Mrs. Howard (Mae) Risor of Norfolk, Nebraska and Mrs. Grant (Frances) Perry of Houston, Texas.

Brothers and sisters are: Clark Claridge, Cottonwood, Arizona; Dalbert Claridge of Tampa, Florida; Lesley Claridge, Simi Valley, California; Mrs. Bill (Louise) Morris, Mayfield, Kentucky and Frances Banta, St. Louis, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be: Jack Chapman, Donald Heller, J. Merton Kuhr, Dick Charleston, Nile Johnson and Clay Sorensen.

The name of one of the pallbearers in the Mark Claridge obituary was incorrectly recorded.

It was listed as Donald Heller and should have been Dr. Donald Ehlers.
