JACK A. COBURN JR., 58

Jack A. Coburn Jr., 58, of Tekamah, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Funeral services are 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, at the First Presbyterian Church in Tekamah. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Decatur with military honors by American Legion Rogers-Crum Post No. 215 and VFW Gleason Rogers Post No. 6926.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 1 to 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at the church, one hour prior to the service.

Jack Albert Coburn Jr. was born April 20, 1951, in Omaha to Jack and Betty (Kramer) Coburn Sr.

He attended school at Westside in Omaha. He then served in the U.S. Navy.

On Feb. 11, 2000, he married Rebecca Eberle in Tekamah.

He enjoyed the outdoors: fishing, boating, hunting and watching sports. Although he could be very stubborn, he loved having a good time.

Survivors include his wife, Becky of Tekamah; children and their spouses, Jim and Carrie DeJarnett of Malvern, Iowa, Heather and Nick Booth of Harker Heights, Texas, Mary Ann DeJarnett of Papillion, Josh and Kelli Coburn of Blair, Christina and Luke Connealy of Tekamah, Jeremy and Crystal Coburn of Blair, Christina and Jeff Eele, Susan and Brandon Ackerman, and April Garner, all of Tekamah; 29 grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barb and Gene Labs of Herman, Trudy and Keith Stillman of Lyons; brother and sister-in-law, Nicholas and Patty Coburn Sr. of Tekamah; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
