A longtime supporter of the Gage County Museum, she initiated and organized the Weldon Kees literary conference in 1988, which brought together some of the leading authorities on Nebraska-born poet, playwright and painter. In 1989, she moved to Lincoln where her home became the favorite destination of her five grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Marvin and son-in-law Paul Gronseth of Claremont, Calif.; sons, George Marvin and his partner Scott Meyer of Portland, Ore.; and Dan Marvin and daughter-in-law Donna of Lincoln, Neb.; five grandchildren, Dylan and Adrian “Snowy” Gronseth, and Katherine, Matt and Emily Marvin; sister, Genene (Ronald) Lewis of Forest Grove, Calif.; brothers, Charles (Ann) Jensen of Blair, Neb.; and Alan (Anne) Jensen of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
