Mrs. Maude Jahnel Died Here Sunday

Mrs. Maude Jahnel., long-timed resident of Blair and immediate vicinity, died Sunday, October 26th at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair. She was 90 years old, having been born August 4th, 1879 at Kennard. Her husband was the late Frank Jahnel who died a number of years ago in the 40's. The couple farmed in the Kennard area during their active years.

Mrs. Jahnel will be remembered by many in Blair for her work as a precinct assessor, a work which she carried out for a number of years.

She is survived by three daughters. They are Mrs. Edna Champion, Mrs. Edith Kroeger and Mrs. Ethel McDonald, all of Omaha. There are 7 grandchildren and 25 great- grandchildren.

Mrs. Jahnel had three brothers, James Wright and Pete Wright, of Blair and Cullen Wright of Oregon. Mrs. Myrtle Nelsen of Blair is a sister as well as Mrs. Mable Stewart of Omaha.

Funeral services were held at the Bendorf Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon and burial was made in the Kennard cemetery. The Rev. Harold Jorgensen conducted the funeral service.

Pallbearers were Robert Kroeger, Jr., and Robert Kroeger, Sr., Melvin Kroeger, Donald Kroeger, Ray Fackler and Merritt Klotz.

Note: Parents were Samuel McGee Wright (1850-1901) and Ida Mae Wright (1859-1932). Children were Edna Blanch Kroeger, Edith Louella Kroeger, Clark Wright Jahnel, Ethel Mae McDonald. Siblings were Thomas Elmer Wright, Myrtle E Nelsen, James W Wright, Sam M Wright, Mabel Stewart, A.E. "Pete" Wright, Joseph Cullen Wright.
