The remains of Peter Jensen, who lost his life by drowning in the Platte River last June, were brought here from Plattsmouth yesterday afternoon. They were accompanied by a brother, Ivar Jensen and John Boetel of Plattsmouth, who found the body in the river. It was taken to Kennard this morning for interment and funeral services were held there being conducted by the Rev. E. R. Andersen of Fremont. Mr. and Mrs. Marx Matx, Mr. and Mrs. I. C. Jensen and Fred Bader were among those who went to Kennard to attend the services.

A Burlington pay check from which almost everything else had faded by long exposure to water except the number, served to identify the body of Peter Jensen drowned at the Fremont Burlington bridge June 22, and picked up at Plattsmouth, perhaps eighty miles away by the river's course, on Saturday. The paymaster at Omaha was communicated with and his records showed that the check of the number given was issued in May to Jensen, a bridge employee of the road at Fremont -- Fremont Tribune -- Last Tuesday morning the remains were brought to Kennard from Fremont. Funeral services were held at the Danish Church and was largely attended by relatives and friends from Fremont and Kennard. Interment Kennard Cemetery.
