All were at his bedside at the time of his death. His father preceded him 10 yrs. ago last October.

So many have spoken words of praise of this young man that we scarcely know what virtues or tributes here to pay him. The gorgeous display of the floral designs contributed from the school children and his many, many friends speak louder than words.

The funeral services were conducted from the M.E. Church, scripture was found in St. Luke 22:42--"Not my will, but thine be done." It was a large funeral considering it was while the worst snow storm in 20 years.

#2-Kennard was greatly shocked and saddened last Wednesday when at noon the news came that James Jeppesen had died at Seward after a few days’ illness. He had been slightly sick with tonsillitis but had consulted a doctor. He had planned to go to Seward to spend the weekend with friends and on Sunday evening became very sick and was unconscious. His mother went to him Monday and on Tuesday his sisters, brother, step-father, Hans Jorgensen, and his uncle, Will Rosenbaum, went up; all were present when death came. James was 18 years, 10 months old the day he died. He was born on the farm west of town on April 12, 1900. His father died Oct. 17, 1908. James had decided to be a farmer and had attended the agriculture farm. He attended the Kennard school and would have graduated this year if he could have attended regularly. He left school when in the tenth grade as he felt he was needed at home. He had no bad habits and was a great favorite among the young and old alike and will be greatly missed by everyone.

The floral offerings were beautiful, among the larger pieces were two large bouquets from the high school grammar and intermediate rooms, and the M. W. A. Lodge, which he had recently joined. The funeral was held at the M. E. Church, Rev. Ahrendt officiating, last Friday afternoon and though a blizzard was raging and it was necessary for several men to keep very busy shoveling to keep the road open, the church (the end of the obituary is missing).
