John A. Simmons, 77

John A. Simmons, 77, of Ft. Collins, Colo. Died Oct. 27, 1999.

He was born March 16, 1922 to John and Dora Simmons in Ft. Smith, Ark.

He lived in Omaha for 30 years, California for 14 years and Ft. Collins, Colo., for 10 months.

He was a 2nd class machinist mate in the U.S. Navy on the construction battalion at Pearl Harbor. For most of his life, he was a heavy machine and crane operator and laid oil and natural gas pipeline in the western U.S. until retirement in 1997 due to health reasons.

He is survived by a son, Rick Simmons of Fountainhead, Calif.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joleen and Ron Rewerts of Blair and Barbara and Calvin Dyer of Ft. Collins, Colo.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the Blair Methodist Church Building Fund or the Blair Band Boosters.
