Marie Hamburger, 83, of Blair, died on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at Midlands Hospital.

Graveside services were held on Monday, Oct. 9, at the Herman Cemetery.

Marie Hamburger was born on Jan. 12, 1917, in Ridgewood Queens, N.Y., to Joseph and Magdoline (Arenth) Pfeifer.

She attended school in New York, and later worked for the Bell Telephone Compnay.

In 1979, she moved to Blair, where she was employed at the Memorial Community Hospital. She was a member of the Country Bible Church and Silver Cords.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Pfeifer of Omaha, a son, Martin Hamburger of East Meadow, N.Y., two granddaughters, a great-grandson, and a brother Raymond Pfeifer of Long Island, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, a brother, Joe, and a sister, Julie.

Memorials are suggested to her headstone fund.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
