Anne E. Hamer, 89, of Lewis Run, Penn., died Nov. 3, 2005, at the Bradford Penn. Regional Medical Center.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Nov. 5 at the Sacred Heart Church, with interment in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Allegany, Penn.

Anne E. Chohrach was born May 23, 1916, in Lewis Run, Penn., to Adam and Susan (Bonko) Chohrach.

On Oct. 2, 1946, she married Willard V. Hamer.

Mrs. Hamer was employed at AVX Corp in Olean, and retired in 1963.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Portville and its Altar and Rosary Society, the Bishop’s Committee on Family Life, secular Franciscans SFO, life member of the Portville PTA, volunteer for the Office Aging in Allegany County, volunteer for the Red Cross Bloodmobile, and was active with the Cub Scouts.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Wilma and David Mount of Whitesboro, Penn., Mary Paulson of Tampa, Fla., and Susan and Gordon Williams of Hobart, Ind.; two sons and daughters-in-law, William S. and Ginger Hamer of Scotia, Penn., and Paul F. and Colleen Hamer of Blair; six grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Manning of Bradford, Penn., and Dorothy Chohrach of Lewis Run, Penn.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard, in 1959; a sister, Agnes Chohrach and four brothers, John, George, Stephen and Paul Chohrach.

Memorials are suggested to the Sacred Heart Church, the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
