DR. GEO. HAMPTON DIED AT TEKAMAH LAST SATURDAY

Funeral services were held last Saturday, February 13th for Dr. George E. Hampton, well known Burt County osteopath and optometrist.

He had been born on a farm near Herman on January 11, 1893 but had spent most of his life in the Burt County and West Point, Nebraska area. He attended country school near Tekamah and later went to Kirksville, Mo., where he studied to be an Osteopath. Later, following his marriage to Fern Broughton, of Tekamah, he established a practice at West Point where he lived for many years.

Mrs. Hampton died in 1963 and after that time he ended his practice in West Point and returned to Tekamah which was his home town.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and served as Worthy Patron of the West Point lodge for three years.

He had suffered a lingering illness for the past year and had been hospitalized at Omaha and Blair for the past year. He died Wednesday, February 10 at the age of 78 at Memorial Community Hospital at Blair.

Survivors include an uncle, Charles Hislip, cousins and nieces. The couple had no children.
