Amy Hancock Died At Crowell Home Sunday, November 8

Miss Amy Hancock, well known Blair woman, died at Crowell Memorial Home last Sunday, November 8th. She had been a life-long resident of Washington County, having been born here April 29, 1891. She was 79 years old.

Miss Hancock will be remembered as a clerk in a number of Blair stores. Her last employment, before retirement, was a Lee’s Pharmacy. At one time she won a Chamber of Commerce award for being the most pleasant clerk in the city, reflecting her personality and kindly, helpful nature.

Miss Hancock was a lifelong and close friend of Miss Gertrude Mead, early-day Blair piano teacher, and for years she made her home with the Mead family.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Campbell Mortuary with the Rev. Richard Atherton conducting the service. She has no surviving relatives aside from one sister who resides in California.

Burial was made in the Fontanelle Cemetery under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary. Pallbearers were Lee Lucke, Frank Cooper, Warren Whitaker, Stewart Smith, Don Kelter and Max Cochran.
