Edith “Pat” Hancock, age 90, of Tekamah, died Wednesday, July 12, 1989 at Good Shepherd Home in Blair.

Pat was born on June 16, 1899 at Neligh, Nebraska to Sonke and Kathryn (Jensen) Paulsen. She graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1923, after which she moved to Tekamah and taught home economics at the Tekamah High for three years.

On February 12, 1927, Pat married Roy Hancock at Council Bluffs, Iowa.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Tekamah for over sixty years. Pat was a past president and fifty-year member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Past Worthy-Matron and fifty-year member of Tekamah Chapter No. 131, O.E.S., a charter member of the Women’s Society of Christian Service at the United Methodist Church, a member of the Tekamah Book Club, and a member of the Delta Dek Bridge Club.

Survivors include her husband, Roy Hancock of Tekamah; one daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Roy Jarvis of Cottage Grove, Oregon; and three grandchildren; Dr. Scott Keenan and his wife, Jennifer of Dover, New Jersey, Kimberly Anders and her husband, Robert of Springfield, Oregon; and Jeffrey Keenan and his wife, Lori of Redondo Beach, California.

Funeral Services were Saturday, at the United Methodist Church in Tekamah with Rev. marion H. Knoell officiating. Interment was in the Tekamah Cemetery.

The family requests memorials be made to the Tekamah Rescue Squad.
