Ray Hancock, 85, of Blair died Thursday, July 31, 1997 at Good Shepherd Home in Blair.

Services were Monday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Chapel. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Hancock was born in Burt County, Neb. to Warren and Ida (McDonald) Hancock on Feb. 12, 1912. He attended the Tekamah Public Schools and farmed in Burt County for 33 years.

On June 10, 1934, he married Rosamond Jensen. They moved to Blair in 1952. He worked for the Vinton Motor Company as a mechanic for 20 years. He was a pilot. He entered Good Shepherd Home in October 1995.

Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and Richard Toelke of Blair; a son and daughter-in-law, Carroll and Peggy Hancock of Oklahoma City, Okla., a sister Dorthy Neal of Hastings.; a brother, Emery Hancock of Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren, Mark Hancock of Oklahoma City; Michael Hancock of El Paso, Tex., Kaye Hancock of Oklahoma City; Mark Toelke of Blair; Scott Toelke of Blair and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rosamond, on December 19, 1988; three brothers and one sister.

Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church or the Burt County Museum.
