MRS. MAUDE KILE 85, LIFELONG RESIDENT OF CRIEGHTON, SUCCUMBS

Mrs. Maude L. Kile, 85, a lifelong resident of the Creighton community, died Friday, Aug. 1, at Lundberg Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. The Rev. Paul Matthews of Central City officiated. Music was provided by Trudy Anderson and Jane Allen with Mrs. Don Mill as organist. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were C.J. Ganz, James Burt, Richard Hutchson, Joe Radosti, Cliff Largen and Paul Wegner.

Maude Buckmaster, daughter of T.J. and Mary Buckmaster was born Sept. 18, 1883 at Creighton. She graduated from Creighton High School, attended Peru Normal School and taught school in and near Creighton until her marriage.

She was married to M.L. Kile on Feb. 9, 1905 at Creighton. Three children were born to them.

Mrs. Kile was a member of the Episcopal Church and a worker in St. Mark’s Guild. She was a 64-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, a charter member of Chapter EJ, PEO and a 50-year member of the Royal Neighbors.

She is survived by one son, Marvin W. Kile, of Creighton; two daughters, Mrs. Merle (Mary) Wardell of Kennard, and Mrs. H. T. (Dorothy) Concordia, Kan.; six grandchildren and four step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Her parents, husband and three brothers preceded her in death.
