Frank Cope

Frank Wilford Cope died January 20, 1987, at the Good Shepherd Home. He was 79.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, January 23, at St. Francis Borgia Church. Father Daniel Galas will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dunlap, Iowa.

Pallbearers will be Richard Hansen, Roy Cope, Carl Cope, Lester McKnight, Roy Anderson and Robert Martin.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Thompson, Harry Beck, and Dr. Leslie Grace.

Cope was born in Nemaha County, Nebraska, November 18, 1907, to Rueben and Lizzie (Wilson) Cope.

He married his wife Evelyn, who died three years ago, and then remarried to Irene Poudrier.

For 23 years, he owned and operated Cope’s Café.

Cope was a member of St. Francis Borgia Church and the Blair Eagles.

He is survived by his wife Irene, Blair; a step-son, Calvin Fairbanks, Dixon, Missouri; a sister, Melba Ludington, Fort Collins, Colorado; one granddaughter; one great-great granddaughter, and nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Evelyn, and one brother.
