Fay E. Copper, 89, of Arlington, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, at her home.

Graveside services will be noon on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Madison Square Cemetery in rural Taylor, with the Rev. Lynn Martin of Arlington officiating. There is no visitation.

Fay E. Copper was born Dec. 25, 1913, in rural Taylor to Charles and Etta (Warn) Wellington. She grew up on a Sandhills ranch north of Taylor. On Feb. 10, 1932, she married Alfred Copper at Taylor.

She lived at Sargent and Broken Bow, then moved to Portland, Ore., during World War II. She returned to Sargent while her husband worked for Northern Propane, then lived in several area communities around Sargent and Fullerton. She moved to Arlington in May of 1994.

Mrs. Copper was a homemaker and also did wallpapering and painting. She was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge and of several card clubs.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Harold and June Copper of Seward; daughter and son-in-law, Alta and Gerald Russell of Arlington; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Geri Wellington of Portland, Ore.; sister, Marjorie Welkie of Lincoln; 10 grandchildren and six step-grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Eldon; two brothers, Arthur and Charles; four sisters, Genevieve, Ora, Pauline and Nola; grandson, Steven Copper; and granddaughter, Geraldine Russell; two great-grandsons, Jeremy and Jack Russell.

Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
