Mrs. Jennie Downs, age 89, passed away at the Eppley Care Center in Omaha. Funeral services were at the Mead Chapel in Omaha with Rev. W.W. Haynes officiating. Graveside Committal services were at 11:30 at the Arlington Cemetery. N.P. Swanson-Kenneth Golden Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

American Legion Leslie Downs Post No. 71, of Arlington was named after Leslie Downs, a brother, World War I Veteran who passed away in 1928.

The Downs family were long-time residents of Arlington.

Attending services from Omaha were the nurses aids and one nurse who cared for her. They were Miss Edna Cole, Miss Alice Barnes, Mrs. Roy Bloom and Sarah Nelson, her nurse.

Mrs. Downs was a 50-year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
