Merle L. Corbin, 91

Merle L. Corbin, 91, of Tekamah, widow of Harry D. Corbin, died late Sunday evening, December 6, 1987, at the Oakland Heights Care Center in Oakland, where she had been a resident for the past three months.

She was born on February 16, 1896, at Craig, to Elias B. and Janiza A. (Pendry) Shutt.

Merle was married to Harry Dean Corbin on December 26, 1917 at her parents’ home in Craig.

Mr. Corbin died on July 4, 1978.

She was a member of the Dorcas Society and United Presbyterian Women and a long-time member of the United Presbyterian Church in Tekamah.

Survivors include one son, Dean L. Corbin of Craig, and one daughter, Frances L. Greenwood of Tekamah; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and infant daughter, Mary Priscilla.

Funeral services were held December 10, 1987, at the United Methodist Church in Tekamah with Rev. Thomas E. Robson officiating.

Interment was in the Craig Cemetery.

Arrangements were handled by the Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah.
