Kermit L. Cornelius, 79

Blair native Kermit L. Cornelius, 79, died Oct. 6, 2008, in Omaha.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler West Center Chapel in Omaha. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Omaha, with full military honors provided by the Offutt AFB Honor Guard.

Visitation at the funeral home will begin at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Kermit L. Cornelius was born March 23, 1929, in Blair.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sheryl and Martin Puttroff of Denver, Colo.; sons and daughter-in-law, Dale Cornelius and Rick Cornelius, both of Omaha, and Mark and Darlene Cornelius of Peru, Ind.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia R. Cornelius; and a daughter, Kristi Finch.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
