James Cornu

James W. Cornu died October 28, 1986 in Blair. He was born in Alliance on December 17, 1911. He was employed by the Army Corps of Engineers for 32 years. On June 12, 1937 he was married to Helen Andreasen in Omaha, Nebraska. Since his retirement in 1964 he and his wife have lived in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Helen, and his son, Tom, and daughter-in-law, Susan, and four grandchildren, Sharon, Tim, Jason and Ryan. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Anna Andreasen, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Keith and Mary Vinton and Helen Andreasen. A brother Monte from Springfield, Illinois and a sister Mona Killian from Chadron also survive.

A memorial service was held at the Campbell Mortuary I Blair, at 7:30 p.m. on October 29, with Rev. John Ewton and Rev. Dale Westadt officiating. Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, on Sunday, November 2, at 2 p.m.

Burial will be in Ancient Cemetery at Yarmouthport, Massachusetts.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to The Blair Rescue Squad.
