Marion M. Coufal, 95

Former Kennard resident Marion M. Coufal, 95, of Fremont, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, at Arbor Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont with Fr. Owen Korte officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Cemetery in Omaha.

Closed casket visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont, with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m.

Marion M. Coufal was born Nov. 11, 1908, in Omaha to Louis and Marion (Karvelis) Pamedit. She grew up in Omaha and lived most of her life in Omaha. She was a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.

On Nov. 3, 1925, she married James J. Coufal in Omaha. The couple lived in Kennard from 1962 until 1971, then returned to Omaha. Mrs. Coufal moved to Fremont in 1996.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont; a former member of the Catholic Daughters and the Benson Garden Club as well as St. Pius X Catholic Church in Omaha and St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard and Joan Coufal of Fremont, James and Lorraine Coufal and Albert and Darlene Coufal, all of Omaha; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; son, Richard; and a daughter-in-law, Sarah Coufal.

Memorials are suggested to St. Patrick’s Church in Fremont.
