Services were held February 24, 1989 at Kremer Funeral Home in Omaha for Alice (Johnson) Hansen who died February 22, 1989. Rev. L Weeks officiated. Interment was at Mount Hope Cemetery.

Alice (Johnson) Hansen was born on a farm in southern Washington County on July 25, 1891. She married Hans N. Hansen on March 14, 1911.

She moved to Benson to her parents’ home in 1953 where she lived until 1981. Due to bad health, she moved to Ville de Sante Home at that time where she resided until her death.

She was a confirmed member of Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church for 58 years and had read the Bible several times. She enjoyed yard work and her flower garden, made many quilts after moving to town, crocheted, and was a member of a card club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hans, one son, Harvey and a daughter, Alice Kroeger.

She is survived by a son, Walter, and his wife, Lillian; a daughter, Mildred, and her husband, Axel Norgard; a son-in-law, Ernest Kroeger; a daughter-in-law, Pauline; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Many friends and relatives also survive her.

Pallbearers were Dean Bengen, Dan Bengen, Jim Knag, Art Dohse, John Hansen and Doug Dornacker. Dennis Paulsen was soloist.
