Services were Monday, May 1 at Burmeister Funeral Home in Harlan, Iowa for Alice Hansen, 89 who died April 28, 1995 at the Salem Lutheran Nursing Home in Elk Horn, Iowa. Rev. Steven Gronseth officiated. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Kimballton, Iowa.

Alice Hansen, the daughter of Soren and Karen Kristoffersen Petersen was born August 19, 1905 on a farm west of Audubon, Iowa. She attended an Audubon County country school through the eighth grade.

In April, 1931, she married Peter D. Hansen in Fremont, Nebraska. They farmed in Washington County, Nebraska for several years and then moved to a farm near Portsmouth, Iowa in 1940.

They retired from farming in 1973. At that time, they moved to Kimballton.

In March, 1992 she moved to the Salem Lutheran Retirement Home in Elk Horn, Iowa and then to the nursing home in March, 1995.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter on September 19, 1977 in Harlan.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Jeanette Dugger in 1991; five brothers, Hans, Andrew, Carl, Alfred and Lawrence; two sisters, Meta Loft and Albena Johannsen and one grandchild.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Florian and Nadene Hansen of Audubon, Iowa and Arlo and Mary Lou Hansen of Goodland, Kansas; one daughter, Iona Stratbucker of Blair, one brother, Chris Petersen of Audubon; one sister, Eleanora Bryant of Perry, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and three ste-great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers were David Dugger, Steven Dugger, Marlin Dugger, Ronald Hansen, Morris Cox, Mark Burrell and Rick Eledge.

Rev. Gronseth was vocalist. Marcia walker was organist.
