Veola Hansen, 90, of Blair, died Monday, May 10, 2010, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 13, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at noon on Wednesday, May 12, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Anna Veola Hansen was born May 13, 1919, on a farm near Orum to Albert Martin Jensen Schjodt and Andrea Marie Hansen.

She was baptized on June 8, 1919, and confirmed on March 25, 1934, at First Lutheran Church where she was a lifelong member.

She attended the Gardner, McCarthy and Sutherland grade schools in Washington County and graduated from Blair High School in 1937. She worked as a bookkeeper and accountant at Lutheran Publishing House and Nebraska-Iowa Supply in Blair prior to her marriage.

On Sept. 8, 1946, she married Clifford K. Hansen. The couple lived on the family farm until 2000 at which time they moved to Johansen Manor and then to Good Shepherd in 2004.

Mrs. Hansen is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Annette and James Brown, Mishicot, Wis., Joanne Hansen, St. Paul, Minn., and Janet and James Simonitch of Omaha; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Eulella and Hubert Petersen of Fremont; sisters-in-law, Rhoda Schjodt of Blair and Ruth Peterson of Portland, Ore.; brother-in-law, Vern Hundtofte of Council Bluffs, Iowa; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her husband, Clifford; brother, Harald Schjodt; sisters, Rose DeLaCastro, Carol Hundtofte, and infant sister, Margaret Marie Schjodt; brothers-in-law, John DeLaCastro and Paul Peterson; and nephew, Brian Peterson.

Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church or Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.
