Chris Richter was born at Omaha, Nebr., March 16, 1869 and died April 11, 1927, aged 58 years and 25 days. He came with his parents to Blair when he was a year old. Later he worked with his father in the brick yards near Blair for a number of years. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Margaret Reeh, February 13, 1890. Since that time they have resided on farms near Herman living at their present home for the past nine years. To this union two children were born, one son and one daughter. Mrs. Richter was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Richter, who with three brothers and one sister preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, his son, Henry, and his daughter, Mrs. Tom McDonald, both of Herman, four grandchildren, two brothers, Albert of Blair, Nebr., and Henry of Wood, South Dakota.

Mr. Richter had been in poor health for the past three years but had not been confined to his bed until the past two months. He was of a jovial disposition, always ready to look upon the bright side of life. During his suffering, his thoughts were ever with the loved ones ministering unto him never complaining of self. He was an honest, upright man, just in all his dealings with his fellowmen and a man of his word. His friends were numbered by his acquaintances, love respected by all.

Funeral services were held at the Herman Baptist Church Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Rev. T. J. Reese officiating. Mrs. C. E. Johnson, Mrs. Geo. Lowe, C. R. Gray and Fred Robertson with Mrs. L. V. Ackerman at the piano, furnished the music. The body was laid to rest in the Blair Cemetery.
