Nov. 21, 1949 – Dec. 15, 2014

Born in Omaha, Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, Ethelyn Major and Charles A. Nanfito. Survived by beloved wife and companion, Fran Maddox-Nanfito; sons, Joshua Nanfito and Thad (Trisha) Nanfito; daughters, Melissa (Brian) Boyce, Emily (Van) Simmons, Genvieve (Anselme) Nassa, and Aleece (Tim) Smith; 13 grandchildren; sisters, Marianne (Don) Maxwell, Kathy (Brian) Coney, Eileen (Bruce) Sundberg, Meg (Steve) Jones, and Jackie Nanfito; many nieces and nephews.

Tony graduated from Creighton Prep and Creighton Law School. He devoted his live to looking out for the needs of others. Over the years, he practiced law both privately and for public agencies. His later years led to a call in ministry, and he served as a part-time chaplain at several area hospitals. His volunteer work at the Stephen Center was his final gift of service to others. Tony loved to sail and spend time on a lake, as it brought him a sense of peace and tranquility.

MEMORIAL SERVICE 2 pm Saturday, December 20th, at St Paul’s Episcopal Church, 22 Dillman Dr., Council Bluffs, IA 51503. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Memorial Fund.
