OBITUARY

Mrs. Clara L. Simonsen passed away at her home on west South street on Saturday, December 15 after an illness of six days, the result of flu which developed into pneumonia.

Mrs. Simonsen was born on a farm near Craig, Nebraska and there she grew to womanhood and was married to Mr. Marius Simonsen on July 7, 1921. Directly following their marriage they moved to Blair where Mr. Simonsen was employed as an engineer in the city light plant, which position he still holds.

To Mr. and Mrs. Simonsen, one son, Richard, now four and one-half years old was born, and it was a happy family. They owned their own home and the future looked bright for them but powers, over which no man has control, intervened and the good wife was taken, leaving a stricken and broken household.

The wife taken in the prime of a happy life at the early age of twenty-nine years will not only be missed in her own household, but the entire neighborhood will feel the loss greatly. She was a woman of kindly disposition, never too busy to do a kindly act or minister to the needs of those in trouble and she thus wove herself into the hearts of her acquaintances and made for herself a place that will be difficult to fill and will never be forgotten and the sympathy of these friends is extended to the bereaved husband the grief stricken parents.

Besides the husband and little son, she leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Stoner of Craig, Nebr., and one brother, William, also of Craig.

The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at one o’clock from the home and interment was made in the Craig cemetery.
