Clarence Simpson

Services for Clarence S. Simpson, 95, of Blair will be at First United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 1985. Dr. Howard Bailey will officiate. Mr. Simpson passed away Tuesday, December 10, 1985 at Crowell Memorial Home following a long illness.

He was born in Rantoul, Illinois, April 28, 1890 to Frank S. and Margaret Simpson. He was the eldest of three children.

As a young boy, he moved with his family to a farm northwest of Blair. He attended Pleasant View School, Blair High School, and Dana College.

On February 9, 1912 he was married to Lucy Shields of Blair. They were parents of one daughter, Luella. His wife passed away November 3, during the flu epidemic of 1918.

On March 30, 1927, he was united in marriage to Ruby Reeves of Blair. They were parents of one daughter , Marilyn Rolland.

He farmed in the Blair area for a number of years. After moving to town, he was associated with the ASCS office. He served eight years as a member of the Washington County Board of Supervisors, after which he retired because of failing health.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Blair for over 78 years.

Mr. Simpson is survived by his wife Ruby, his sons-in-law and daughters, Warren and Luella George of Omaha, Phil and Marilyn Rolland of Blair, brother Harvey Simpson of Blair, four grandchildren: Mrs Jack Nance (Shirlee) of Papillion; Brent Rolland of Mountain View, California; Mrs. Greg Schriner (Mindy) of Westminster, Colorado; Curt Rolland of Blair; two great-grandchildren Kirk Nance and Amy Nance of Papillion.

Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers are Kirk Nance, Brent Rolland, Mark Miller, Curtis Rolland, Chris Miller and Greg Schriner.
