Irvin H. Suhr, 90

Irvin H. Suhr, 90, of Fremont, died Oct. 6, 2004, at Birchwood Manor in North Bend.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Interment will be in Fremont’s Memorial Cemetery.

Irvin H. Suhr was born July 4, 1914, in rural Uehling to Gerhard and Mathilda (Heinemann) Suhr. He farmed near Uehling until his retirement, and moved into Fremont in 1979.

On February 16, 1946 he married Virginia Vogt at Benson.

Mr. Suhr was a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at rural Hooper, and former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 200 of Fremont.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia; two daughters and sons-in-law, LaNell and Bob Hawkins of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Sharon and Donald Reese of North Bend; sister, Alvina Johnson of Fremont; one grandson; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Suhr, and three sisters: Amelia “Mollie”, Ella Hansen and Clara Nelson.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.

Irvin H. Suhr, 90, of Fremont died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at Birchwood Manor in North Bend.

He was born July 4, 1914, in rural Uehling to Gerhard and Mathilda (Heinemann) Suhr. He farmed near Uehling until retiring and moving into Fremont in 1979.

He married Virginia B. Vogt on Feb. 16, 1946, in Benson.

He was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in rural Hooper and a former member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 200 of Fremont.

Survivors include: his wife, Virginia; two daughters, LaNell (Mrs. Bob) Hawkins of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Sharon (Mrs. Donald) Reese of North Bend; a sister, Alvina Johnson of Fremont; a grandson, Dustin Reese, U.S. Marine Corps, at San Diego, Calif.; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Elmer Suhr, and three sisters, Amelia "Mollie" and Ella Hansen and Clara Nelson.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with the Rev. Greg Hall of First United Methodist Church in Fremont officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to service time, all at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
