Blair native John R. Richter, 85, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, in Omaha.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday, Jan.. 9, at the John A. Gentleman Pacific Street Chapel in Omaha. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Omaha.

John R. “Jack” Richter was born July 11, 1923, in Blair.

He is survived by his stepchildren and their spouses, Paul “Dick” and Betty Schaefer, Judi and Duane Aten, and Todd and Val Schaefer, all of Omaha, and Rodney and Kim Hirchert of Clinton, Mo.; a sister, Donna Mae Beauchamp of Atlantic, Iowa; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Margaret Burns, Virginia Schaefer, and Dorothy Hirchert.
