#1-Published in the Pilot 23 Feb 1921,p. John Richter died at a hospital in Omaha Tuesday of last week of heart failure and the funeral was held at the farm home, the old John McMahon farm southwest of Blair, at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon, Rev. C.M. Foreman officiating. Mrs. J.M. Kyde furnished the music. Mr. Richter was the youngest of four brothers and was born in this city July 19th, 1873. He was married to Miss Hannah Quist in 1899 and two children were born to them, Roland, aged 19, and Magdaline, aged 14 years. Besides the wife and children, he is survived by three brothers, Otto, of this city, Chris, of Herman, and Henry, of Burke, S.D.

#2-17 Feb., 1921 - The Enterprise - John Richter

The sad news reached Blair and vicinity on last Tuesday morning of the death of John Richter of heart trouble Monday evening, Feb. 14.

He had been in Omaha for the past few weeks in a hospital there for treatment, although he had been ailing for some months.

Mr. Richter was born in Blair July 19, 1873 and was the youngest of four brothers.

He married in 1899, Miss Hannah Quis, who with two children survive him. A son, Roland R., age 19 years and Magdalin V., age 14 years are bereft of a father’s love and care. The deceased leaves three brothers, Otto of Blair, Chris of Herman and Henry and Burke, So. Dakota.

Funeral services were held from the family home on the John McMahon farm south of Blair Thursday, Feb. 17, at two p.m., Rev. Foreman of the Baptist denomination having charge of the services, and burial made in the Blair cemetery.
