DIED

Mrs. Sadie A. Lewis, widow of our oldtime friend “Gus,” died last Monday at Fremont, where she has resided since the death of her husband twelve years ago. The funeral was held yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. R. Thomas, in Fremont and the remains taken to Fontenelle for interment.

(In Fontanelle Lutheran Cemetery, a man and woman, Augustus D. Lewis and Sarah A. Lewis, are buried with the details the same as given in the obituary above. Augustus died in 1902 (twelve years earlier than 1915) and Sarah died on 9/20/1915. Although Sadie’s first name is listed as Sarah A. in the Fontanelle Cemetery, it seems safe to call them the same person. Both the man and the woman are buried in Section 4, Lot 20.)
