Mrs. Metzinger Dies in Minnesota

Services Held Today for Former Blair Woman, aged 70

Mrs. Elizabeth Metzinger, former resident of Blair, died Monday, May 29th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roscoe Rhea at Pipestone, Minnesota. She was 70 years, three months and 25 days old.

The body was shipped to Blair for burial, and funeral services were held this (Thursday) afternoon from the Baptist church, with Rev. Walter H. Jackson, Methodist minister, officiating in the absence of Rev. Thomas J. Reese, the pastor, who was called out of town to conduct another service.

Mrs. G. Metzinger

Mrs. George Metzinger, a former Blair resident, passed away Monday, May 29th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rosco Rhea of Pipestone, Minn. At her death, Mrs. Metzinger was 70 years of age. The husband passed away some time back.

Two children survive Mrs. Metzinger, the daughter, Mrs. Roscoe Rhea, with whom she made her home, and George Metzinger of Blair. Other immediate relatives of the deceased are two brothers, Wm and Elsworth Bright of Iowa City.

Funeral services were held Thursday of last week and interment made in the Blair cemetery beside the husband who had passed on.

As Elizabeth Bright, Mrs. Metzinger was born February 4, 1863, in Pennsylvania, and was of English descent. Her husband, the late George Metzinger, was a well-known carpenter here and preceded his wife in death several years ago.

Surviving Mrs. Metzinger are two children, Mrs. Rhea of Pipestone, and George, of Blair.
