Bondo Hansen was born February 6, 1920, at Herman. He was the son of John X. and Alma Hansen.

Bondo spent twenty-one years on the family farm, during which time he attended school and worked at the local lumber yard. He graduated from high school in 1938.

Bondo went into the United States Army in January, 1942. He spent most of World War II in the Pacific Theater.

He returned to the United States in November, 1945. Bondo decided to make a career of the Army, serving until his retirement on November 30, 1966, as a Sergeant Major.

He and Eleanor Jensen were married on December 7, 1945. They spent two tours of duty in Europe and Bondo served in Korea for eighteen months. Along the way, their three children were born: Roxann Kohler, Connie Zynda and Craig.

After Bondo retired from the Army, he was employed by the Ford Motor Company. He worked in Wixom for 12 years until he was given, a medical retirement in May, 1978, following a heart attack.

Having regained much of his health, Bondo spent much of the next seven years doing volunteer work. He served on the Board of Deacons and three terms on the Board of Stewards of his church.

Likewise, Bondo belonged to the American Legion, the V.F.W. and was a lifetime member of the AMVETS. He served as a commander in the AMVETS, 1979-80.

Bondo was a member of the Lincoln Park Masonic Lodge, the Adoniram Chapter 13 of the Royal Arch Masons of Blair, the Jordan Commendery Knight Templar of Blair and the Omaha Council I of the Royal and Select Masters.

He was a member of the Moslem Shrine and marched in the Moslem Temple Legion of Honor.

Bondo’s mother, father and brother, Allen, preceded him in death. He is survived by a sister, Ruth Weaver, and a brother, Dale Hansen.

Likewise, he leaves behind Eleanor, Roxann, Connie, Craig and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Craig Hansen, Dale Hansen, Arnold Kohler, Kenneth Zynda, Leo Hooks, and James Jensen.

Services were held February 11, 1987, in Lincoln Park Michigan.
