Funeral services for C. W. “Shorty” Hansen, who died May 22, 1990 after having been ill for more than three years, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26 at the First United Methodist Church in Blair with Dr. Howard Bailey officiating. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation will begin Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The family will receive visitors from 7:00-8:30 p.m.

C. W. Hansen was born on November 14, 1911 in Herman, Nebraska to Thorvald and Annetta (Kruse) Hansen. He received his elementary and high school education at Herman, Nebraska. From 1935 to 1942, he was the Chief Clerk for the Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service office in Blair.

On May 18, 1940 he married Mary Frances Warrick in Blair.

He was farm store manager for Pfister Hybrid Company in Kearney, Nebraska and later regional sales manager in Fremont, Nebraska until 1967. He moved to Parson, Kansas in 1967 and was payroll supervisor for Day and Zimmerman Inc., until retiring in 1977 and moving to Blair.

He was preceded in death by parents, three sisters and one brother, Lillie Christiansen, Ella Weber, Esther Hansen, and Carl Hansen.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; two daughters, Susan Brown, Jolene Tourek, both of Omaha; one son, Roger Hansen of Rochester, New York; eight grandchildren; one brother, Einer Hansen, Blair; two sisters, Agnes Deines, Omaha and Frances Knudsen, Carlsbad, California.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
