Services for Carl Peter Hansen, 81, who died April 5, 1986 at Blair Memorial Community Hospital, were held Monday, April 7, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery and the Rev. Carl Schattauer, Jr. officiated.

Hansen was born October 27, 1905, in the family home west of Herman, the son of Thorvald and Annette (Kruse) Hansen. He attended the Hill Creek School west of Herman. On June 20, 1920, Carl was confirmed at the Orum Church in Orum.

Hansen lived on the farm with his parents until his marriage to Violet D. Gilliland of Blair on June 25, 1932. The couple had three children: James Thorvald Hansen, Mary Ann (Hansen) Fuchs, and Joan Beverly (Hansen) Ward.

Hansen worked for the Mark Beaty Construction for several years and in 1938 he began working for Korshoj Construction Company of Blair. He worked as a foreman for 33 years with Korshoj Construction.

Hansen was a Charter Member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles Club in Blair No. 3215.

Survivors include his wife, Violet, son James, daughters Mary Ann and Joan; his daughter-in-law Sonya Hansen and son-in-law Gene Fuchs; and grandchildren Bruce, Bryan, Brad and Heather Hansen, Scott and Holly Fuchs, Mark Allen Ward, and Craig and Julie Ann Warden.

Hansen is also survived by his two brothers, Einar Hansen of Blair and C. W. Hansen (Shorty) also of Blair and two sisters, Agnes Deines of Omaha, and Frances Mae Knudsen of California.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Esther Hansen, Ella Weber and Lillie Christensen.

Organist was Clare Cowing and vocalist was Melvin Misfeldt.

Honorary pallbearers were Fred Gutschow, Allan Iverson, Bud Jenny, Gene McGrue, Phil Mogg, Emmett Rogert, Roger Ward, and Harold Wright.

Active pallbearers were Rick Dierks, Keith Kuhr, Clair McKinnis, Roger Petersen, Wayne Royuk, and Merle Ward.

Campbell Funeral Home of Blair was in charge of arrangements.
