#1 Funeral services were held on Monday morning, August 17, 1987 for Carl S. Hansen, who died on Friday, August 14 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Sidebottom of Blair. Services were under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Blair, and Reverend James McBride officiated at the funeral. Graveside services were held at Fort Calhoun Cemetery in Fort Calhoun.

Casket bearers were Tim Lippincott, Scott Poe, Steve Ray, Joe Fryman, Don Graves and Ray Satterfield. Honorary casket bearers were Pat Allen, Merle Sonderup, Pat Gillespie, Jim Marin and Emmett Rogert.

Mr. Hansen was born November 12, 1909 at Fort Calhoun, to Miller and Johanna Hansen and grew up in the Fort Calhoun and Millard areas. He worked for George Sorensen Dairy in Omaha before moving to Blair in 1945 to farm.

He was married to Anita Suverkrubbe on March 15, 1933 in Omaha. They were parents of four children, Mrs. Bud (Margaret) Sidebottom of Blair; Marvin of Penrose Colorado; Mrs. Ed (Norma) Lippincott of Walnut, Iowa; and Merle of Blair.

There are seven grandchildren, Julie Poe of Bartelsville, Oklahoma; Sharon Ray and Marcia Sidebottom of Blair, Tim and Gina Lippincott of Walnut, Iowa; and Amanda and Haley Hansen of Blair. There are five great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Meta Lund and Mrs. George (Alice) Carter of Omaha and Mrs. Swen (Mildred) Jensen of Blair.

Music was provided at the funeral by Clare Cowing and Dave Carlson.

#2 HANSEN DIES OF SELF-INFLICTED GUNSHOT WOUND

Carl C. Hansen, 77, of rural Blair died from self-inflicted gunshot wounds around 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Hansen was transported to Memorial Community Hospital, Blair, where he was pronounced dead.

He left no note.
