Mrs. Thomas Smith Died At Tekamah Thurs., Febr. 10th

Dora Ellen Smith, wife of Thomas Smith, died at the Tekamah Nursing Home in Tekamah Thursday, February 10th. Mr. and Mrs. Smith had lived at 707 North 30th Street, Blair.

Mrs. Smith was a native of Tekamah, having been born there January 29, 1907. She was 70 years of age at her death. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Betts, well-known Blair residents.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Thomas and by six sons, two daughters, 31 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The sons are Henry (Sonny) Smith, Tom Smith, and Jack Smith, all of Blair; Donald Smith of Compton, Ill, Bob Smith of Rockford, Ill, and Jerry Smith, also of Rockford.

The daughters are Mrs. Helen Behling, of Rockford and Mrs. Marlin (Dorothy) Crum, of Blair.

She is survived by three brothers and three sisters. The brothers are William Betts, of Blair, Andrew Betts, of Council Bluffs, IA, and Floyd Betts also of Council Bluffs. The sisters, Mrs. Earl (Clara) McMurtie of Fremont, California, Mrs. Emmett (Marie) Steffan, of Missouri Valley, and Mrs. Albert (Avis) Edie, of Council Bluffs.

Funeral services were held at the Campbell Mortuary Saturday morning, February 12th. Burial was made in the Blair Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robbie King, Mike Smith, Tim Smith, Raymond Rosterman, Tommy Smith and Lee Smith.
