Obituary Record

Martha (Mrs. Charles ) Hansen
Died on 7/28/1915
Buried in Holy Cross (Catholic Church) Cemetery

Published in The Pilot August 4, 1915.

The first name and death date were established through the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery records.

The remains of Mrs. Chas. Hansen were brought here from Council Bluffs last Saturday afternoon and laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery. Her death was a very sad one. She was taken sick with what the doctor thought might be typhoid fever and he left a bottle of medicine for her. When her husband went to give her a dose in some wine he got hold of a bottle or carbolic acid they had to use after small pox. She drank it and lived but thirty minutes. She was but 33 years of age and besides the grief stricken husband she leaves two small children. Also one brother and two sisters. Mrs. I. N. Warrick and Mrs. C. W. Lewis, of the city, are cousins.
