MARY HANSEN, HERMAN, DIES

WIDOW OF CHRIS HANSEN, KENNARD AND HERMAN FARMER, IS BURIED

Mrs. Mary K. Hansen, 83, widow of Chris M. Hansen, who once farmed in the Kennard and Herman vicinities, died Friday at the home of her son, George Hansen, where she had resided eight months.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Baptist church in Herman. Dr. N. C. Carlsen of Blair officiated and burial followed in Herman cemetery.

Mary K. Iversen, daughter of Iver and Christiana Iversen, was born in Magleby, Denmark, Oct. 13, 1863, where she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She came to America in 1885 and was married at Blair Feb. 2, 1887, to Mr. Hansen. They lived for two years on a farm near Kennard, then moved to the Herman vicinity. They moved into Herman in 1919, and Mr. Hansen died Feb. 26, 1937.

For several years Mrs. Hansen had made her home with her children.

Surviving the aged Herman woman are three sons, Viggo and Harold Hansen, both of Fremont, and George Hansen of Herman and three daughters, Mrs. Mary Hansen and Mrs. Christiana McDougall, both of Omaha, and Mrs. Alice Morrison of Lyons. Other survivors include two brothers, Jens P. Iversen of Blair and Nels P. Iversen of Vona, Colo.; 26 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

MRS. MARY HANSEN DEAD AT 83 YEARS

HERMAN - Mrs. Mary K. Hansen passed away June 28th at the home of her son, George, at the age of 83 years.

Mary K. Iversen was born near Magleby, Denmark October 13, 1863, and came to this county in 1885.

She was married two years later to Chris N. Hansen of Blair. To this union was born six children: George of near Herman, Viggo and Harold of Fremont, Mrs. Peter Hansen and Mrs. Robert McDougle of Omaha and Mrs. Roy Morrison of Lyons. She also had twenty six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday at two o’clock from the Baptist Church in Herman. Dr. N. C. Carlsen of Blair officiated. Music was furnished by Mrs. Claude Yowell, Mrs. Ted Swanson, Fred Robertson and Clare Johnson. Mrs. Arthur Morrow accompanied them.

Interment was made in the Herman cemetery.
