EDW. HANSEN DIED AT BLAIR HOSPITAL SAT'DAY

LONG-TIME EMPLOYEE OF THE GAS COMPANY WAS WELL KNOWN

Ed Hansen, for many years an employee of the Gas Company at Blair, died at the Blair Hospital Saturday, February 6th. He had lived at 1340 Colfax Street for many years. He had been retired for the past ten years.

He was born at Blair May 12, 1896, the son of the late Charles Hansen, one-time Blair bakery operator and was therefore, 74 years of age.

He grew to manhood in Blair and was married to Margaret Gutschow, also of Blair, and they made their home here all of their married life. He served in the United States Navy during World War I.

A son, Charles Edward, preceded his father in death, the victim of an automobile accident a number of years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret, by a grandson Erik Scott Hansen, and a granddaughter, Jan Rae Hansen, both of Omaha. Two brothers survive, John Hansen of Blair and Elvin Hansen, of Omaha. A sister, Mrs. Earl Burbank, is in Florida for the winter.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 9th at the Campbell Mortuary with the Rev. Robert Albers conducting the service. Burial was made in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary.

Pallbearers were Harley Rennerfeldt, Marvin Stier, Clarence Hansen, William Gutschow, Robert Macholan and Robert Plugge.
