Funeral services were held at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church on Monday, May 11, for Emily Hansen who passed away May 8, 1987 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Interment was made in Fort Calhoun Cemetery, with arrangements by Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home.

Emily Hansen was born November 5, 1908 in Fort Calhoun to Joe and Emma Ketchmark. She married Fred Hansen on October 14, 1942 in Blair, and they were lifelong members of the Calhoun community. She was a member of the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church since childhood, a member of Camp Fire Girls as a young girl, and was a past matron of Eastern Star and secretary of the Fort Calhoun Cemetery Association for twenty years.

Survivors include Emily’s husband, Fred; one sister, Minnie Louise Jipp of Fort Worth, Texas, and several nieces and nephews. Two nieces, Shirley Mehrens Rice on Savannah, Georgia and Jeanne Margaret Kruse Head of Fort Worth, Texas came for funeral services.
