Esther Laaker Hansen, 80, died in Scottsbluff October 5, 1987.

Esther Laaker was born to Charles and Emma (Kruger) Laaker in Arlington on August 2, 1907.

She went to Fremont with her family when she was 16 years old.

April 4, 1931, she married in Fremont to Tod Hansen.

He was a carpenter, and the Fremont City Building Inspector from 1958 to 1974.

He died March 11, 1977, and she had resided in Scottsbluff for the past five years.

Survivors include three daughters, Pat Hansen and Mrs. Les (Arlene ‘Skip’) Leuthaeuser, both of Scottsbluff, and Mrs. Richard (Sandra) Magill of Hooper, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation was at the Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont, and funeral services were held October 9, 1987, in Fremont at the Good Shepherd Church. Rev. Timothy J. Gierke officiated.

Barbara Gierke was organist and Lonnie Olson sang “The Lord’s Prayer.” The congregational hymn was “I Know That My Redeemer Lives.” Pallbearers were Clifford Lund; C. Rodney Lund; Alvin Burch; Martin Leutheeuser; Richard Crawford, and Dale Echtenkamp.

Burial was in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
