FRED R. HANSEN OF KENNARD AREA DIED ON SATURDAY

Fred R. Hansen, a native of the Kennard area, died last Saturday, October 9th at Memorial Community Hospital. He was 79 years old.

Mr. Hansen was born at Kennard January 10, 1892 and he grew up in that area. He engaged in farming and part-time carpenter work there. Later he moved to Herman where he farmed in the Hill Creek school district.

He moved to Blair to retire about ten years ago and Mrs. Hansen preceded him in death in 1965. At the time of his death he was a resident of the Good Shepherd Home in Blair.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. George Carmichael (Mardelle) of Blair; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Bendorf Funeral Home Tuesday, October 12th with the Rev. Sanford D. Sorgen conducting the service. Burial was made in the Blair Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Howard Laughlin, Floyd Hinz, Howard Widener, Don Petersen, Earl Stokes and Chester Spiker.
