Bernice N. Lund, 92 of Fort Calhoun, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, in Blair.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 25, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Bernice N. “Bunny” Lund was born July 15, 1911, in Irvington to George and Amanda (Borup) Huber.

On Sept. 5, 1931, she married Harry Lund at Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church in Omaha. The Lunds lived on a farm in the Greene Valley School District until 1969, when they retired and moved to Fort Calhoun.

Mrs. Lund was one of the original founders of the Better Homes Extension Club and was a member for 40 years. She was also a member of the Washington County Chorus, former member of the Fort Calhoun Womens Club, life member of the Washington County Historical Association and Memorial Community Hospital in Blair, was a volunteer for the Greene Valley School District and was a donor for the Fort Calhoun Medical Clinic.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Ella Robinson of Sweet Home, Ore., and special friends, Richard and Nelle Larsen of Fort Calhoun.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, and her oldest brother, Freddie, who died in infancy.

Memorials are suggested to the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church or the Fort Calhoun Rescue Squad.
