CARL LUND, 88

Funeral services were Wednesday, March 21 at Salem Lutheran church in Fremont for Carl Lund, 88 of Nebraska City who died March 17, 1990. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Carl Lund was born March 12,1902 on a farm near Kennard. He was an auto mechanic and in 1943 went to work on the Alcan Highway in Alaska for ten months as a machinist. In 1950, he worked for Valmont Industries in Valley as a supervisor of the tool and die shop. He retired in 1967.

He married May Sorensen on June 29,1929 in Blair. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Stanley of Bainbridge, Washington; a daughter, Joan ( Mrs. Bill) Dawson of Nebraska City; and seven grandchildren.

Carl Lund, 88, of Nebraska City, died Saturday, March 17, 1990, at Duff's Center in Nebraska City. He was a retired supervisor. Mr. Lund was born March 12, 1902,on a farm near Kennard. He was an auto mechanic and in 1943, went to work on the Alcan Highway in Alaska for 10 months as a machinist. In 1950, he worked for Valmont Industries in Valley as supervisor of the tool and die shop there. He retired in 1967.

He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church.

He married May Sorensen June 29, 1929, in Blair. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Stanley of Bainbridge island, Wash.; a daughter, Mrs. Bill (Joan) Dawson of Nebraska City; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont. The Rev. J. W. Berry will officiate. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Lattin-Dugan-Chambers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to the church.
