SERVICES FOR GEORGE LINDEN HELD SATURDAY

Funeral services for George Bertrand Linden of rural Blair were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Campbell Funeral Home in Blair. Rev. Carl F. Schattauer Jr., officiated with organist Clare Cowing and vocalist Homer Nielsen. Song selections were “Beyond the Sunset” and “Rock of Ages.” Graveside services were held at the Blair cemetery.

George Bertrand Linden was born on Nov. 25, 1914 at Blair. He was the son of Frank Bertrand and Martha (Von Lanken) Linden. He was baptized as an infant in the Blair Trinity Lutheran Church. He attended the Blair Elementary City Schools and the Sutherland School west of Blair. He graduated from Blair High School and attended Dana College.

He made his home with his father on the “Linden” farm west of Blair. After his father’s death, Bert retired from farming, but continued to live on the farm until his death at his home on Wednesday morning, Jan. 30, 1985 from a heart attack.

Bert is survived by his sister Margaret Linden Andersen of Blair; nephew Don Andersen and Mardell; one great niece, Pam Andersen and one great nephew, Paul Andersen, all of Blair. Bert was preceded in death by his father in April of 1968 and by his mother in November of 1919.

Pallbearers were Alvin Andersen, Lyle Christensen, Bernard Gosker, Clifford Hansen, Robert Petersen and Alvin Wulf.
